Arc Publishing signs magazine publisher Bonnier Corp.
Arc will power technology for the company’s more than 30 multichannel magazine brands, which include Field & Stream, Popular Science, Saveur, and more.
February 26, 2018 -- Arc Publishing, The Washington Post’s fast-growing platform-as-a-service, has signed Bonnier Corp., one of the largest niche magazine publishing groups in America. Arc will power technology for the company’s more than 30 multichannel magazine brands, which include Field & Stream, Popular Science, Saveur, and more.
“This year, we continue to invest heavily in adding new tools and features that publishers across the spectrum, including brands, broadcasters and magazines, need to optimize their digital presence,” said Scot Gillespie, CTO at The Post. “Between a new, highly-configurable subscription platform, custom-tailored planning, sophisticated curation tools for visual brands, and the capability to organize content and templates across multiple sites, Arc is positioned to be the premier technology solution for modern publishers worldwide. We are pleased to welcome Bonnier to the Arc platform and look forward to working with them to realize their digital ambitions.”
In moving to Arc, Bonnier will cease support for its internally built and supported custom CMS, allowing their product and engineering teams to focus on audience growth and engagement, and their editorial teams to focus on telling more stories that appeal to their discerning readers.
“It became evident early in the demo process that the Arc platform was well designed from a capabilities point of view,” said David Ritchie, Bonnier COO. “Arc integrates many of the best practices and philosophies that informed our own in-house CMS, plus it incorporates a host of functionality that we currently must purchase from third-party vendors. With Arc, we will be in a position to simplify our tech stack while also benefiting from the continued development of tools by the Arc engineering team. That’s a powerful combination.”
