Arc XP Explores a Week of Global Media Innovation: ONA, Press Gazette, and IBC
What a week! The Arc XP team has just wrapped an incredible series of events in three cities and three countries, where we connected with customers, partners, and future co-conspirators to shape the future of media and publishing. Here’s where we landed and what we discovered.
Launching in New Orleans – ONA 2025
We kicked off the week at the Online News Association (ONA) conference, where the buzz was centered around AI in the newsroom and building compelling audience communities.
Our team had insightful conversations with publishers and newsroom leaders about the ways in which AI can enhance, rather than replace, journalists, and how community-driven engagement is becoming an important driver of growth.
We also collaborated with our partners Viafoura and Marfeel to host a lively dinner and ghost tour of the French Quarter. It was an optimal mixture of fun and thought-provoking conversation, with space for attendees to contribute their thoughts on how newsrooms innovate without abandoning their mission.
Steering the Discussion in London – Press Gazette Future of Media Technology
Next stop: London, where Arc XP was proud to be headline sponsor of Press Gazette’s Future of Media Technology Conference.
Our President, Matt Monahan, rose to the occasion with a timely and provocative address:
“Can AI and Personalization Unlock Sustainable Revenue Growth for Publishers?”
Matt invited the audience to reimagine their relationship with readers, highlighting that as audiences evolve, so should publishers. He spoke about how Arc XP and The Washington Post are building the future of media hand in hand: empowering publishers to pivot, grow, and thrive in an audience-driven world.
The event reiterated that personalization, data-driven planning, and a focus on high-quality journalism are the ingredients for lasting growth.
Wrapping up w/ IBC 2025 in Amsterdam
We concluded the week at IBC, one of the world’s biggest global platforms for media and broadcast innovation. Arc XP co-hosted three fantastic partner events that connected industry leaders.
- Canal Boat Tour with Mux – A private evening boat cruise along the lovely canals of Amsterdam.
- Happy Hour with Wizeline – A lively meet-up at The Waterfront, where we delved into workflows for productivity, implementing AI, and the future of integrated digital and broadcast workflows.
- AWS Elemental 10-Year Anniversary at the Heineken Brewery – We were honored to sponsor this anniversary celebration and celebrate AWS’s impressive achievements in video innovation.
On stage, our CTO Joe Croney delivered an award worthy presentation: “Optimizing for Audience 3.0: Where Storytelling Meets Subscriber Science.”
Joe explained how the platform at Arc XP is particularly suited for next-gen media companies, combining best-in-class storytelling with data savvy needed to power long-term, independent, and competitive growth.
Our Key Takeaways
Across all three events, a unifying theme was evident: the future of the media belongs to the people willing to adapt. Whether AI in the newsroom, personalization as a driver of growth, or workflow automation, broadcasters and publishers are seeking technology that allows them to move at pace, connect audiences more intensely, and build lasting businesses.
Media is not just a use case at Arc XP—it’s who we are. We love being at the intersection of journalism, technology, and community, empowering our customers to drive great ideas into real-world solutions.
